OUR TIPS
DISCOVER THE REGION THROUGH OUR EYESDiscover places of magic
Recharge your batteries, expand your consciousness or simply relax and unwind. What is certain is that there are places in this world whose beauty makes your heart beat faster and calms your pulse. Places such as waterfalls, springs, riverbanks, mountains, gorges, rocks and grottos, but also sacred buildings, old castle ruins, etc. are often attributed with particularly strong powers. The Swiss Places of Power research center has discovered a large number of natural and man-made places of magic in Val Lumnezia.
THE GREINA HIKE
One of our favorite tours is the Greina hike. The Greina Pass is one of the oldest crossings from north to south. Together with the Lukmanier Pass, it was already used by the Romans. The hike is divided into three stages. Over three days, you hike through two cultures in two cantons.
SKITOURS
Far away from the hustle and bustle, you can enjoy Alpine nature to the full. The Surselva is the ideal area for ski and snowboard tours. The region offers many eastern slopes between 1200 and 3000 meters above sea level, which are suitable for every level from inexperienced to experienced. We recommend tours only with a mountain guide.
OPENAIR LUMNEZIA
Every year on the second last weekend in July, national and international bands rock the stage at Openair Lumnezia. Our Openair Special: Overnight stay with late riser breakfast! Non-hotel guests have the opportunity to enjoy a hot shower and a cup of coffee and croissants for CHF 25. YOU can be there too!

LAG LA CAUMA
Called “Lag la Cauma” in Rhaeto-Romanic, which means “lake of midday rest”, Lake Cauma is the pearl of Flims. If we stand on its shore, we can see right to the bottom, so clear and pure is its water. Its extraordinary turquoise-green color is famous, and yet the mountain lake is a mystery: Lake Cauma, the pearl of the Alps, impresses every guest again and again.
Ride your dream
Many of you probably don’t know that the world’s best mountain biker grew up in the middle of Val Lumnezia, in Tersnaus. And probably even fewer of you know that the Surselva is THE mountain biking insider tip! Cool, flowing trails, above the tree line with a magnificent panorama. Whether short or long, easy or difficult, leisurely or full throttle – the Surselva offers bikers countless possibilities.
